CORONAVIRUS UPDATE: SMILE Thrift Store will remain closed until schools reopen. The SMILE Thrift Store is closed to protect the health of SMILE customers, clients, and volunteers. Donations of furniture and other goods cannot be accepted at this time. When the Thrift Store reopens for business again, it will be announced here and on our Facebook page.
The SMILE FOOD PANTRY IS OPEN during its regularly scheduled days and hours. However, the schedule may change as circumstances require.
FOOD AND MONETARY DONATIONS ARE NEEDED AND APPRECIATED! The Food Pantry will be grateful to accept donations of shelf-stable food or money during the hours it is open. Monetary donations also can be mailed or made through PayPal (see the DONATE page.) These will help SMILE to continue to serve the community during this time while the Thrift Store is closed.
TUES, MARCH 31 TO APRIL 24: NEW LOCATIONS for Calvert County Public Schools Free Meals and Snacks for Kids
Starting on Tuesday, March 31, through April 24, the "Grab 'n Go" meal site locations have changed. Calvert County Public Schools is offering free meals and snacks to children ages 2 - 18 regardless of where they live or attend school. Meals and snacks will be provided for pickup between 11 am and 12 noon at three NEW LOCATIONS:
--Elks Lodge Parking Lot, 1015 Dares Beach Road, Prince Frederick
--White Sands Clubhouse Parking Lot, 8285 Sycamore Rd, Lusby
--Chesapeake Ranch Estates Clubhouse Parking Lot, 476 Clubhouse Dr, Lusby

SMILE POLICY ON EMERGENCY CLOSINGS
If Calvert County Schools are closed due to weather or other emergencies, SMILE Food Pantry and Thrift Store also will be closed. If schools close early due to a weather emergency, SMILE will close early. If schools open late due to weather, SMILE will be open at the normal time. SATURDAYS: If Calvert Co. School activities are cancelled, SMILE will be closed.
The SMILE Thrift Store is looking for volunteers! Thrift Store volunteers provide the crucial energy needed to operate a store that generates most of funding needed to support SMILE's ministries, including the Food Pantry. We have immediate openings in receiving, sorting, furniture sales, and furniture pickups. All Seniors ages 55 and older receive 50% off on all senior clothing (to be worn by the senior named on the card.)

IMPORTANT! Specific Days and Hours for Donating Goods
We love receiving your donations of clothing, household goods, and other items because this makes SMILE possible! But we can receive them only during the days and times listed below.
Donations of furniture, clothing, and other goods are accepted ONLY during the following hours of operation:
Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 8:00 am - 1:15 pm
Saturdays: 8:00 am - 11:15 am
We also accept donations of canned and packaged foods during these hours.
We are staffed by volunteers, and limiting the donation hours enables us to have the time to store the items for later sorting and to provide the tax-deduction form for donations, which is available on request.
